To protect your goods in storage, consider using boxes or totes and specialized packing supplies.
- Appliances: Clean and dry appliances, leaving doors slightly open. Some can be stacked.
- Electrical Equipment: Ensure all items are clean and dry before storing.
- Prevent Rust: Wipe metal surfaces and lightly coat with machine oil.
- Documents: Pack books and files flat, using bubble wrap or newspaper for cushioning.
- Clothing: Store clothing on hangers or folded in cartons, ensuring they're clean to avoid pests.
- Furniture: Disassemble and place furniture on cardboard or plastic sheets. Stack lightweight chairs seat-to-seat, and cover upholstery with dust covers.
- Lamps: Wrap lamp bases in padding and store shades separately.
- Holiday Decorations: Keep in original cartons and wrap fragile items.
- Music Items: Store CDs and records in boxes or airtight cartons.
- Screens: Cover and wrap computer and TV screens for protection.

How Much Space Do I Need?
Big Moose Self Storage offers four different sizes of units. If you’re unsure about what you need, our experienced team can help recommend the right size based on a few simple questions. Contact our office for assistance!
What Items Are Prohibited?
For the safety of our customers and employees, we do not allow the following items in our facility: liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please refer to our Dos and Don'ts for more details. If you have questions about a specific item, feel free to reach out.
When Can I Move In?
You have the flexibility to choose a move-in date that works best for you!
What Is Required to Rent a Storage Space?
To rent a storage unit, you'll need to agree on the size and price. Our team will collect your personal contact information and a government-issued photo ID. You'll also need to sign a rental agreement and pay for the first 28-day cycle along with a $50 deposit.
Do I Need to Sign a Long-Term Lease?
No, our rental agreement is month-to-month, allowing you to control your move-in and move-out dates. Just schedule your move-out at least 30 days in advance.
How Do I Make a Payment?
For convenience and savings, automatic payments from your credit card are encouraged. We also offer alternative payment options online and over the phone.
Why Sign Up for Autopay?
Our automatic payment system ensures your rental payment is processed on time, eliminating worries about late fees.
When Is My Bill Due?
Your rental payment is due every 28 days. If you’ve signed up for autopay, the payment will be deducted on the first of the month.
When Can I Access My Unit?
Our location offers 24-hour access.
What Are Your Hours?
Business Hours: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday - Sunday
Gate Access: 24/7
What Security Features Are Offered?
Our facility is fenced, gated, and monitored by 24-hour video surveillance.
Can I Transfer to a Different Unit?
Yes! Contact our office to discuss size options and pricing. The transfer must be completed on the same day to avoid double charges, and you'll sign a new rental agreement.
What Are the Move-Out Procedures?
Please notify us when you plan to vacate your unit. On move-out day, send us a photo of your empty unit and an exterior shot of the locked door. Once received, we’ll process your move-out, release your $50 deposit, and open the gate for you to exit.
